From: London, United Kingdom
I judge a lot of the music I listen to by whether they'd have made it to the revered John Peel's radio show. I can guarantee that London twisted surf rockers Pet Scenes would have been firm Peel favourites. Man Contest sounds like someone spot welded pure rock 'n roll distilled from the sweat of Iggy Pop to the rear end of an unheard grunge b-side from the 90s creating something that's new, visceral and exciting. Living The Dog sounds like a totally mental surf rock track filtered through the back catalogue of the Cramps while That Thing On His Face sounds like a controlled explosion of the early singles of Roxy Music. No-one, I repeat no-one, sounds like this in 2011. No-one sounds this unhinged, this raw, this rock 'n roll. This is the new sound better than the old sound.
