New Pool Rising 2

EricsNot long after my recent post on the rise of the Liverpool music scene from the Doledrums it was announced that the legendary music venue Erics is to re-open its doors 31 years after they closed for what was thought to be the last time. Further evidence that the musical good times are back. To celebrate this momentous news here are some more bands bringing the feel good factor back to the land of the Liver Birds.

The Ratty Little Fingers
Cracked alt folk with a scouse twist.

Widescreen indie suffused with the ashes of China Crisis and The Lotus Eaters.

Fly With Vampires - Whispers by bandinabox

Already featured on the blog way back in 2009 (They Want To Ride Your Bicycle) but no post on Liverpool bands can omit the awesome Bicycle Thieves (ok well maybe no post other than my first post on Liverpool bands). Gallivant pitches it's tent somewhere between the majesty of The Delays and the English eccentricity of The Wild Beasts.

The Sand Band
Harmonies from heaven and acoustic psychedelia tinged pop from the Coral's back yard.

The Sand Band-Song That Sorrow Sings by Republic of Music

Greedy Jesus

Sounds like Pete Wylie's wistful alter ego.
