The Balkans are young (they're straight out of school), good looking and sound like a raw, untutored Strokes. As they were all probably still in nappies when Casablancas, Valensi, Moretti , Hammond Jr and Fraiture joined forces I can only surmise that they were bottle fed on liquidised Strokes demos.
Given the undewhelming reaction to 'Under Cover Of Darkness', the recently released Strokes track, there is a real gap in the market for laid back new wave which The Balkans are well positioned to fill.
