Johnny Reb are a gang of reprobates (or maybe rebrobrates!) from Glasgow. They are relatively modest reprobates introducing themselves to the Devil via an email that simply said 'We're Johnny Reb & we're distinctly average'. Clearly a band in desperate need of the help of a PR company or maybe a self confidence counsellor.

For a good twelve years these modest Glaswegian reprobates were apparently little more than a painful memory on the stagnant Cyndi Lauper tribute act scene. That was until Boz Boorer ex Polecat, well known compadre of Morrissey & general 'Sting aficionado' stepped in to sprinkle a little stardust. Two weeks reconditioning in the Portuguese mountains at Boorer's Serra Vista Studios and an audience with Dave Ruffy of the legendary Ruts turned the gang into a well honed machine who sound like The Smiths after a particularly virulent bout of Libertines poisoning.

If you want to catch a glimpse of the newest recruits to the Boorer family and are in or around Glasgow on Friday 14th January the band are plying their trade at the Captain's Rest. Entry to the sound of the future is a measly two of your British pounds which is half the price of a Matt Cardle CD! What a crazy mixed up world we live in.
