This year’s Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition (ETC) 2011 is now officially open, but aspiring bands better get their skates on sharpish because it's closing in a week. The competition gives new, unsigned artists from any musical genre residing in the UK and Ireland the chance to compete for a main stage slot at the Festival. Previous ETC entrants include Stornoway, Scouting For Girls, We Have Band, Golden Silvers, the Subways and last year's winners Ellen and the Escapades.
To help create a shortlist from the thousands of entries Glastonbury Festivals have enlisted the help of "40 of the UK's best music bloggers". Michael and Emily Eavis will then whittle this list to form the line-up to the live final in April where the winner will be selected to play a main stage slot at the 2011 Festival.
The more astute among you may have guessed why I'm telling you all this. Yep the Devil is one of those 40 blogs. Which is a huge honour but also a tremendous responsibility. If you're an unsigned band from the UK or Ireland and are up for the challenge you can enter your band by clicking on this link where you'll find more information and an online form to complete.
